What’s new for the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan?
For 2024, VW’s IQ.DRIVE suite of driver-assistance tech comes standard across the Tiguan lineup, with features such as adaptive cruise control and active lane control. Other new standard features on the base S trim include an auto-dimming rearview mirror and rain-sensing windshield wipers. A mid-year update will upgrade the infotainment system and add wireless charging.
The 2024 VW Tiguan is closely related to the cheaper, smaller, and less-powerful Volkswagen Taos. Conservative and clean exterior styling continues inside, which includes snug third-row seats in front-wheel-drive versions. Under the hood, a 184-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged-4 produces decent pep, with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that provides smooth shifts. The VW Tiguan gives a comfortable, yielding ride, though R-Line trims, with larger wheels, can be somewhat stiff. However, EPA ratings of 25 or 26 mpg combined are toward the thirsty end of the small crossover segment.
On the upside, the Tiguan boasts a spacious interior with fantastic second-row seating and generous cargo space. Its simple dash includes an intuitive infotainment system and standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, with wireless compatibility as an option.

The Tiguan range starts at $29,855, including a $1,350 destination fee. All-wheel drive adds about $2,000. VW has not yet released pricing for the full lineup, however.
The base trim should satisfy most, though families will probably appreciate the easy-clean synthetic leather upholstery on the mid-level SE model. That also includes wireless smartphone integration and dual-zone automatic climate control.
