2024 Nissan Sentra Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The refined and affordable 2024 Nissan Sentra is held back only by its crash-test scores.

The Sentra, Nissan’s smallest sedan, offers endearing styling and lots of value in its standard safety package. Rivals include the Honda Civic, Mazda 3, and Toyota Corolla.

Yes, though with room for improvement. We like the value, comfort, and styling, but crash-test results are mediocre and it’s stingy on power. The 2024 Sentra earns a TCC Rating of 5.7 on our 10-point scale—but we’ll update this if there’s a dramatic improvement in fuel economy. (Read more about how we rate cars.)

The Sentra carries over its S, SV, and SR grades with some minor updates for 2024.

Across the lineup, the Sentra gets an updated look with a new front fascia, new headlights, and new alloy wheel designs. The top SR model gets a new rear fascia, as well.

Nissan says the new CVT and the addition of a stop-start system will yield improvements to fuel economy.

An updated feature list brings standard heated front seats to the SR model, while the SV Premium package adds Bose audio and a surround-view camera system.

Though the basic design goes back to 2020, the Sentra still looks good inside and out, with a sporty profile and a comfortable cabin.

The 149-hp engine and front-wheel drive carry over, providing a solid if not exciting driving experience, with engaging handling and a smooth ride.

Even in base trim with cloth upholstery and manual adjustment, the front seats are noteworthy, though higher-trim cars get a power driver’s seat with better lumbar support and heating. The rear row can accommodate two taller passengers, but three will be a tight squeeze. The trunk is about average for the segment and the cabin has plenty of small-item storage.

Crash-test scores are mixed, though the list of standard safety features includes automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitors.

How much does the 2024 Nissan Sentra cost?

Budget about $22,000 for the base S grade with a 7.0-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and automatic emergency braking. We prefer the SV for a couple thousand more, with an 8.0-inch touchscreen display and adaptive cruise control.

Where is the 2024 Nissan Sentra made?

In Mexico.
