2024 Lexus ES Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

What kind of vehicle is the 2024 Lexus ES? What does it compare to?

The Lexus ES midsize luxury sedan combines a spacious cabin, tons of amenities, and available hybrid powertrains. Rivals include the Acura TLX and Cadillac CT5.

Is the 2024 Lexus ES a good car?

Yes, though you’ll have to forego SUV appeal. The 2024 is a highly rational car with a 7 out of 10 TCC Rating thanks to its combination of features, refinement, and optional hybrid efficiency. (Read more about how we rate cars.)

What’s new for the 2024 Lexus ES?

Lexus offers a Technology Package that bundles a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a card key, and a head-up display for 2024. New 18-inch wheels with a Vapor Chrome finish are available on Luxury models and standard on Ultra Luxury models.

Though the ES shares engineering with Toyota’s Camry and recently discontinued Avalon, it’s more upscale than both. This is the most popular car in the Lexus lineup, though it falls short of the RX crossover in terms of sales.

The 2024 ES approaches sporty styling but doesn’t quite commit, with an elegant profile sharpened by some taut lines. The cabin’s sleek and soothing even in base trim, largely since it avoids fussiness, though light-hued leather and wood trim can be combined for a truly luxurious look and feel.

All ES models provide a well-controlled ride that soaks up bumps and rough textures. It’s not sporty, but it’s confident. For the same base price, you can get the ES 350 with a 302-hp V-6 engine and front-wheel drive, or the ES 250 with a 203-hp 4-cylinder and all-wheel-drive. The ES 300h is the best of the bunch, though, good for 214 hp and fuel efficiency of 44 mpg combined from the hybrid powertrain.

The cabin accommodates four adults in comfort, or five out of necessity. Unlike most sedans, the rear seat doesn’t fold. An 8.0-inch touchscreen comes standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen is available.

Safety credentials on the ES impress, with solid crash-test ratings and a generous list of features including adaptive cruise control, active lane control, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitors

How much does the 2024 Lexus ES cost?

The 2024 Lexus ES starts at $43,190 for the choice of ES 350 or ES 250 AWD configurations. Hybrid models cost $1,400 more.

We’d get the hybrid and probably spend more for the Luxury model, which includes leather upholstery and some other amenities. An option or two will bring the total to about $50,000.

Where is the 2024 Lexus ES made?

Some are built in Kentucky, others in Japan.
