What kind of car is the 2024 Chevy Blazer? What does it compare to?
The 2024 Blazer has sharp styling that almost, but not quite, evokes vintage Chevy SUV design. It stands out amongst its smoother, sleeker contemporaries like the Honda Passport, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Ford Edge.
Is the 2024 Chevy Blazer a good car?
It’s a solid choice. With good standard tech features, a range of trim levels, and the ability to out-handle most competitors, it earns a TCC Rating of 6.3 out of 10. (Read more about how we rate cars.)
What’s new for the 2024 Chevy Blazer?
Heated seats now come standard across the lineup, and Riptide Blue Metallic adds some waves to the exterior color palette.
The Blazer’s striking design starts up front, with LED headlights and running lights placed to give the illusion of a wider, lower stance than rivals. This theme carries over to the cockpit, where it takes on an aviation-inspired look with a 10.0-inch central touchscreen display and circular vents.
The base 2.0-liter turbo-4 pairs with front-wheel drive and a indecisive 9-speed automatic transmission. This Blazer delivers 228 hp with reasonable hustle in most situations, and offers more athletic handling and ride than most competitors. Step up to the Blazer RS, which gets a 308-hp V-6 and even better handling thanks to a twin-clutch torque-vectoring system.
While the slightly smaller Chevrolet Equinox encroaches on the Blazer’s five-passenger crossover territory, the Blazer offers more space and somewhat better quality, with the exception of the seats. Up front, the bottom cushions are short and narrow, which is less noticeable but still an issue in the rear row. There’s plenty of space in both rows, thanks to the sliding rear bench, but more padding would go a long way. The Blazer offers maximum cargo space of more than 64 cubic feet.
The Blazer fares well in crash-test evaluations and comes standard with LED headlights, active lane control, and automatic emergency braking. Adaptive cruise control is available on every trim.
How much does the 2024 Chevy Blazer cost?
It starts at $38,190, including a destination and handling charge of $1,395. That’s for the Blazer 2LT with the turbo-4 engine, front-wheel drive, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, newly standard heated front seats, a 10.0-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and 18-inch wheels. All-wheel drive adds $2,700 on LT models and $2,900 on RS and Premier models.
With all-wheel drive and the V-6 engine, Blazer RS and Premier models push $50,000, but include features like a Bose stereo and larger wheels.
Where is the 2024 Chevy Blazer made?
Tennessee, at GM’s Spring Hill production facility.
