2023 Ford Super Duty F-250 Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The Ford Super Duty XL trucks cost just over $45,000 and eliminate crank windows in favor of power windows. An 8.0-inch touchscreen comes standard as does air conditioning, but there’s still a real key to twist. Key safety tech such as automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitors aren’t standard, but Ford makes them available as part of a package. From there, the luxury features climb the ladder on the six available trims.  We base our 7 out of 10 score on the extensive list of configurations and great infotainment system.

An optioned-out XLT with the Premium Package nets a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.0-inch touchscreen, and blind-spot monitors with trailer coverage. That should do the trick for most people. A Lariat with its automatic dual-zone climate control and leather-trimmed heated seats–cooled up front–along with a few options like built-in scales and tailgate step will go a long way in having a nicer place to spend time and an easier truck to use.

XLTs are the well-equipped workhorse starting out the gate with the 7.3-liter V-8 for just over $50,000. The front bench seat can be had with a slide-out work surface for productivity, and a 12.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be optioned. Automatic emergency braking is standard, which is essential in a vehicle this size.

The Lariat model, which for most consumers feels like the Goldilocks, starts at just over $60,000 and does the best job of balancing work and creature comforts with leather-trimmed seats, a B&O sound system, and longer list of options. Blind-spot monitors join the standard safety equipment list as does a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster.

Super Duty King Ranch and Platinum models feature soft-touch leather, real wood trim, automatic climate control, and automatically deploying running boards to help get in and out of these beasts.

Every single trim of the Super Duty can be optioned with Ford’s ProPower system. It turns the truck into a rolling generator with two 120-volt outlets in the bed, a 120-volt outlet in the front of the cab, and, on crew cabs, a fourth 120-volt outlet in the rear seat. It’s all fed by a 20-amp breaker and costs about $1,000.

For those looking to haul with the Super Duty, Ford has developed some trick technological features. Available built-in scales tell drivers when max payload or tongue weight has been reached via the cabin’s touchscreen. Top-spec Limited and Platinum models integrate this feature into the LED taillights as well. Parking sensors and a backup camera can be equipped into the top of the tailgate, which means when the tailgate’s down the truck still has functional parking sensors and a useful backup camera. The latest trick uses AI to automatically (while holding a button) line the truck’s receiver up with a trailer, enabling the driver to simply drop a trailer onto a ball and hook up.

A well-equipped Ford F-250 Lariat with four-wheel drive, the standard output turbodiesel engine, trailering tech, and other fun options is going to ring in at over $81,000 while a similarly equipped XLT costs about $75,000.

How much is a fully loaded 2023 Ford Super Duty F-250?

A lot. A F-350 Limited starts at essentially $100,000. Most everything is standard at that point. Ford’s front reclining seats join the Super Duty lineup this year, providing the ability to lay flat in the front seat. Power naps while on break or at the kid’s hockey practice will never be the same again.
