This Is What You Need to Know about Suzuki’s GSX-8R

Suzuki’s 2024 GSX-8R middleweight sportbike is an all-new entry to the company’s US model lineup. It’s placed next to Suzuki’s 2024 GSX-R line of sportbikes. While those motorcycles are built for competition and racing, this motorcycle is built for the everyday man or woman who wants just a fun, easy riding sportbike.

Of course you can race this. Of course you can do trackdays, but this is not a GSX-R

sportbike. I know that’s kind of confusing, but that is the deal. This bike is powered by Suzuki’s 776cc parallel-twin engine. This is an all-new engine from Suzuki and stands apart from the competition with its twin counterbalancers—so it’s silky smooth, but still has a really authentic V-twin-like feel.

This engine is good for right around 75 hp (and upward of 50 lb.-ft. torque) at the business end of that rear tire. We have an inverted fork up front with four-piston Monoblock Nissin brakes, and we have a linkage-equipped rear shock with no suspension damping adjustment.

What do you think of this thing? This thing is certainly a looker. I love that stacked

headlight, and I love this new 5-inch color TFT dash. This motorcycle retails right at

$9,439, comes with a one-year warranty, and is built in Suzuki’s Hamamatsu, Japan, factory.

We’ll see you in the next episode.
